Have you ever lost sleep, wondering how you’re going to power your site? Wonder no more our friends, here is a handy breakdown of all the power and cabling solutions we have at AllenHire available for you to hire:
Portable diesel generators
First up we have our smallest generator, the 4kVA mobile silenced diesel generator. This Stephill generator has a tank size of 13 litres and a run time of 13 hours. Housed in close fitting acoustic canopies, keeping the generator as quiet as possible with a noise range of 71 dBA at 7 meters.
If you’re in close proximity to the generator then the super silenced 6kVA diesel generator operates at a quieter 66 dBA at 7 meters. These are ideal to be used in residential areas.
Our Welding generators are a 2-in-1 generator, supplying power to welding on site but also working as a stand along generator when it’s not being used for welding. Slick. We also have the accompanying welding leads, earth clamp cable, welding gauntlets and auto adjust welding masks available to be hired with the welding generator. We’re the full welding package.
Static diesel generators
The larger static diesel generators provide power up to a whopping 500kVA. Giving you a prime power application or as a back-up power source. Static diesel generators are one of the most cost-effective and fuel-efficient units. Compliant with all safety regulations, contact us for a price of the static diesel generators, dependent on the kVA power you require.
Fuel bowsers for generators
We also stock fuel bowsers for generators. As per UK standards; all of our fuel bowsers are internally lined. The fuel is housed within the inner bunding tank inside the bowser; if there is a leakage, the fuel is ‘leaked’ into the 2nd tank – preventing any environmental damage and risk. The fuel bowser is connected to the generator, which pulls the fuel through from the bowser, rather than using the generators’ own internal tank.

Distribution boxes for generators
We stock a range of distribution boxes for generators. All our distribution boxes are fully tested, inspected with fixed and variable RCD units.
Transformers
You’re site ready; the generator is ready, tank full. All the trades are there, at the same time, when they’re supposed to be (pah! Yeah, right). So, where’s the transformer? No, not robots in disguise – your step down or step up CTE site safety supply transformer.
Well, we’ve got them; our stock of transformers are single phase site transformers, three phase site transformers, 3 and 5kVA portable transformers, step up transformers and vented – allowing better airflow – 3kVA and 5kVA transformers for heaters.
Transformers should be connected as close as possible to the mains/generator power supply. All our transformers come with easy to use carry handles and ensure your site is safe should an electrical failure happen, lowering the voltage to a safer 110v operating level.
RCD units, splitter boxes, cabling and extension leads
The last thing you’ll need to have your power supply ready to go is RCD units, splitter boxes, cabling and extension leads.
The Hire Place has 16amp 4-way splitter boxes at either 110v or 240v and 110v, 32amp 2-way splitter boxes giving consistent power to various outlets where needed.
The portable 230v RCD units give added protection to people on site constantly monitoring the electric current flowing through the circuits. If it detects electricity flowing down an unintended path, such as through a person who has touched a live part, the RCD will switch the circuit off very quickly.
Our extension leads range from 110v to 240v, 16 and 32amp. Inline RCD units and fly leads.
With all of your onsite power needs, we have a vast range of equipment available to hire. The best thing to do is call us and we will talk through your requirements, usage and power supply solutions.
